You almost find yourself wanting to root for Eminem in this hypothetical scenario because of how soothing and smooth his voice is and how involved he makes Hailey in the song, with her vocals actually appearing in the song. Despite the horrific storyline involved in the song it is chilled to listen to and features good lyrics. By all accounts a pretty brutal song and not one I imagine gets played when Hailey’s listening to her dad’s music nowadays. It covers a hypothetical situation where Eminem kills and buries Kim while getting their daughter to help him bury her and convincing her her mother is fine. This track went onto be quite famous among the hip hop community and the concept was already around thanks to 2Pac’s version. The seventh track of the album is ‘97 Bonnie and Clyde. He gives some true lyrics that are easily relatable but ultimately it’s not a great song and one that you’d lose no sleep over forgetting. It’s too slow, with Eminem going ‘deep’ on it and ditching a lot of the in-your-face punchlines. Truthfully, not one that will stick out in anyone’s mind and for good reason.

The sixth track of the album is ‘If I Had’. The fifth track of the album is a very small skit called ‘Paul’. No complaints here except there’s never been a Brain Damage 2. The rhyming is impeccable as always for early- Eminem, with him looking effortlessly and perfectly fitting the beat. It covers Eminem explaining to his fans in detail that he has brain damage while rapping about previous bullying experience he suffered as well as briefly going over the type of altercations he dealt with with his Mom. Definitely one of Eminem’s best.įourth track of the album is ‘Brain Damage’, another really decent song and though it wouldn’t sit in my top 5 it’s definitely there. Dre telling the character there could be a reasonable explanation for his wife cheating on him. Another memorable line from Eminem on this track is ‘What? She tripped, fell, landed on his dick?’ as a response to Dr. The fact Eminem, still a relatively new rapper and taken under Dre’s wing could be that ballsy made a statement and people latched onto his music for that ‘don’t give a fuck’ stance he so publicly took.

Dre had been involved in controversy for his assault on Dee Barnes. Perhaps the most memorable and controversial line of the song is undoubtedly Eminem saying to a character about Dre ‘You wanna take advice from somebody who slapped Dee Barnes?’. Dre and has the two rappers representing the ‘good guy’ and ‘bad guy’ to the characters of the song, both offering hilariously different forms of advice to each scenario. This is a personal favourite of mine, definitely deserves to be in Eminem’s top 5. The third track of the album is ‘Guilty Conscience’. As I’m sure every Eminem fan will agree, ‘My Name Is’ a song that will always be appreciated, enjoyed and held up as one of the best songs he’s done…as well as all the other dozens. A lot of the song is meaningless in terms of an in-depth look at Eminem’s life, being more of a good-feel song intended to get radio play and stick in people’s minds while also proving he could still boast the level of lyrics offered in Infinite. He takes shots at random celebrities and demonstrates his lyrical capabilities with memorable lines such as ‘Hi kids, do you like violence?/ Wanna see me stick six-inch nails through each one of my eyelids?’. A fantastic way to introduce an album it covers Eminem taking shots at his Mom as well as boasting a small, uncredited feature from Dr. The second track of the album is the hit ‘My Name Is’. The Slim Shady LP starts off with a small skit named ‘Public Service Announcement’ with Eminem setting the album’s horrorcore-esque vibe off. Dre who had already built himself a name up in the hip hop community through his efforts with NWA and his management of Snoop Dogg. The album has a remarkable track listing of 20 songs with most being decent lengths and containing only a few features, with the most notable being Dr.
